A Shot In The Dark Demo Is As Loaded As Your... Go Figure
More porn!? It should cum (heh) as no surprise that some of the adult titles I’ve covered have been the most popular, and when you can get A Shot in the Dark as a playable demo during the Steam Next Fest, you have to consider whether people want to read about a point and click or boobs.
Boobs win.
The splash screen for the game by ViM Studios, was a little boasty. In this demo alone, there are the following:
- 36,000 words
- 24 scenes
- 28 animations
- 39 songs
- 11 SFX (you know there will be moans, right?)
So why write about A Shot in the Dark if you don’t like this sort of thing, man? On the contrary, I’m a perv as much as the next guy (as long as he isn’t weird), and I get a chuckle out of some of the titles, such as House Party or College Kings 2. Ignoring the stats, it’s clear that this is a decent production.
Like most of these games, you get to pick your character’s name. As the rules go, ‘no names’, so I put in Willy, and the game generated the family name Long. Willy Long. Huh. Willy is a college student (surprise), and he’s about to meet up with all the other students and hopefully dip his wick.
A Shot in the Dark often breaks the fourth wall and doesn’t take itself seriously. It gives you a helping hand (not that kind) along the way, almost spoonfeeding you the options to get your end away. That said, choices matter, and there are so many paths to unlock.
Unlike the other preview of Sex Coach Yoga Thingy, the story here was entertaining and reminiscent of all those teen movies we all group up with. The writing isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s decent, and at the end of the day, you’re not here for the writing.
The character modelling is pretty good as well. Most of the women are nymphos – this is the way – and they all have ridiculous chests, but…. the skin texture in the game is very good. You’ll see blemishes, freckles, hairs and what-have-you throughout, and while this isn’t a Max Factor training course, it’s refreshing that the models aren’t so plastic.
You might not have come here to read all of this and look for footage or screenshots. Just download the demo yourself – it’s free. Will it all be teasing, or do you see ‘anything’ in the demo? Hell yeah, you do. There’s lots of flesh, poses and options, plus, as can be assumed from the title that isn’t related to spunk, Willy (or whatever you name them) has a camera and takes lots of pics of the characters. Win-win.
A Shot in the Dark demo is currently available during the Steam next Fest, and naturally, it’s 18+. In my opinion, it’s the best adult game in its category thus far.
