When you see ‘Norse mythology’, what do you think of? God of War? Odin? Runes? AC: Valhalla? A lot of stuff comes to mind, but maybe rhythm game doesn’t feature? Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree wants a word in your shell-like.

Developed by Wildboy Studios and published by Untold Tales, this hand-drawn, story-driven rhythm combat RPG (gulp!) takes place in Midgard. Abandoned by the Gods, you play Estra, the daughter of mankind’s last great leader.

Though combat is essential in Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree, it’s not the only path, as there will be many challenging puzzles to solve where brute force doesn’t prevail.

Inspired by Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution, Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree is one to watch out for. You can try the demo on Steam now, but the full game will be coming to PC, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch on the 27th of January 2023.
