Could May be the Best Month Ever? Do you see what I did there? This point and click from Klabater was a highlight from the most recent Steam Next Fest, and regrettably, I missed out on reviewing this one, but it’s on my wishlist to play when I get a moment.

But hold the chicken: should I get it for the PC or the PlayStation as the game has now launched on PS4 and PS5! Granted, point and clicks play better with a mouse, but an exception could be made for this narrative-driven title.

Taking place in the 1960s and 1970s, you switch between the two leads Louise and her son Mitch. Every action made will affect Mitch’s future, so… choices matter!!! I never get tired of saying that and having played the demo, dialogue options and your actions will shape the narrative and experience. Bloody marvellous.

Key features in the Best Month Ever! include:

  • Mature, adult-oriented script that challenges the notion what video games can be
  • A tangible system your actions influence directly: Righteousness, Confidence, and Relations aspects that reflect how Mitch is being brought up by Louise
  • 9 distinct, different Endings that depend on key choices of the game
  • Beautiful, stylized artwork reminiscent of the 1960s era

Here’s a recent launch trailer:

Fear not if you think your console is being ignored: Best Month Ever! is also available on the Switch, Xboxeseseses, and of course, the PC.
