Biped Launches On PS4 This Week

Launching this week on the PS4 is Biped – a physics-based two-player co-op from indie developers NExT Studios, and published by META Publishing. 

Biped follows two robots, Aku and Sila, as they attempt to save the Earth from it going dark. Whether this is set in the present day or during T2: Judgment Day, it’s nice to have some robots on our side for once, and in terms of ‘cute’, the robots of Biped join the ranks of Astro Bot Rescue Mission Game.

The focus of controls is on the robots’ legs. Players can walk and slide, solving puzzles with their legs. Take that ASIMO. You’re fired. But the important part to take away from this news piece is that Biped is a co-op – a companion piece if you will.

You’ll need to team up with a pal and help one another solve the various problem to proceed further. A bit like Snipperclips to some degree, but the presentation is more on par with Astro Bot and a little Kirby too. 

Though appearing to be a family-friendly game (and the launch trailer pushes that too), Biped doesn’t look like it’ll be a walk in the park when playing with another player who likes to sabotage your progress (I’m giving my daughter the death stare now).

• Innovative and simple controls. You control the robot’s two legs using two sticks. This allows you to perform various moves—from simple walking and sliding to more advanced actions, like operating machinery or cutting wood.
• Two-player co-op. Enjoy the adventure solo or grab a friend or a family member and have a blast together in co-op mode. Communicate and coordinate to conquer challenges together and find out how good a pair you truly are.
• Explore fun environments. Your adventure will take you to many beautiful and mysterious locations on the planet. Explore secrets in forests, valleys, waterfalls, and icy mountains and find your way through the puzzling paths that lead to the planetary beacons.

Biped is out this week. For time travellers and people who dwell on the past, that’ll be the 8th April 2020, depending on when you’re reading this.
