The MystiveDev brothers are a sci-fi FPS equivalent of Chilla’s Art, producing aesthetically pleasing, claustrophobic, psychological horror spaces, and their upcoming FPS title, Chasmal Fear, takes the experience one step further.

You might recall their previous title, Mirror Forge – a psychological survival horror game packed with horrific entities and equally demanding puzzles. In their latest venture, they follow up with the same intensity as enemies get stronger the more they mutate, and the viewpoint is from a body camera.

Chasmal Fear is a visual treat. I’d been following the development of Mirror Forge for some time and now seeing the latest tweets from the devs teasing with new screenshots and footage makes me drool with anticipation.

Key features include:

  • Singleplayer and Co-Op
  • Limited Resources
  • Fully Randomized Events
  • Player choices that affect playthrough
  • Mutating monsters into unpredictable foes with varying strengths and weaknesses.

There isn’t a release date for Chasmal Fear yet, but you can wishlist it now, follow the brothers on Twitter and give Mirror Forge a spin as there’s a playable demo on Steam.
