Man, I love city builders, and 1950s City Block Builder is just the title I’m looking for – a, surprise, city builder from Tentworks Interactive that’s coming to Early Access next month.

Implementing the best of the tycoon sub-genre with some large-scale city building, the game is set in the 1950s, not too long after the victory of WWII. Johnny Public are relishing in their freedom and have money to celebrate it. Do your best to be a part of that spending process in ‘The American Dream’.

In City Block Builder, you’ll have the opportunity to fine-tune every aspect of your properties from the fundamental management through the decorative details such as tiles, wallpaper and furniture. You’ll hire and fire and build a plethora of retail heaven with everything from bowling alleys to jazz clubs. Hmmmm… jazz.

It’s a classic rags to riches setup, and the developers have meticulously researched the era to ensure its authenticity – from comic books to movie posters, advertisements to technicolor palettes. If you aren’t a gamer in your 70s, then this might be the best opportunity to experience being a fat cat in the era.

Here’s a City Block Builder trailer:

City Block Builder will be available in Steam Early Access from the 22nd of September 2021.
