In It For The Spills, Cleanup On Isle Goblin

Some content creators, journos, bloggers, influencers, and dealer’s of arms, will have an eye for a scoop, but not me. I’m too lazy to compete and often too preoccupied with existing games to find something obscure. That said… I want to share some info on Cleanup On Isle Goblin.

Currently in development for Steam by Watt Designs, this pixel art, life sim, RPG thingy came to my attention via a recommendation on YouTube. Actually, it was for something else, but the video (posted below) came up next and floated mah boat.

Unlike the designer/game developer, I don’t share the same enthusiasm for pixel art. I mean, I know what I like, but I wouldn’t say I’m a subscriber to the style. There are exceptions, and the art in Cleanup On Isle Goblin hits the feels.

This indie takes inspiration from Crypt of the NecrodancerStardew Valley and Harvest Moon (I’ve getting a whiff of Rogue Heroes), and takes place on a beautiful island that you must protect from invading hoomans.

Key features in Cleanup On Isle Goblin include:

  • Rebuild the crumbling town, and fill it with inhabitants to help you on your journey.
  • Fight your way through abandoned dungeons to find treasure from ages past.
  • Craft hundreds of items from the resources you find.
  • Form meaningful relationships with various NPC’s and gain their help in your plight against the human threat.

Here’s that video I wanted. Inspirational stuff:

There’s no date set for Cleanup On Isle Goblin, but watch and subscribe to their YouTube channel for updates and, of course, wishlist it on Steam as I have.

As stated, I found this one myself, with the help of Johnny Algorithm, but if you have an indie you’d like to promote, look at the stuff I cover and drop me a line.
