Cloudpunk, A Dystopia To Look Forward To

30 seconds was all that was needed to bookmark the upcoming game Cloudpunk. My initial question was whether this really is coming to the Switch, and yes, it is. However, looking at these graphics I think that the PS4 jumps the queue on this occasion.

Cloudpunk, a cyberpunk game from ION LANDS with a voxel aesthetic, releases as early as the 23rd of April on PC with the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One arriving later in the year. In the title, you play a courier driver for a semi-legal firm, completing deliveries in the city of Nivalis.

Interestingly, there isn’t really any games that have got this Bladerunner aesthetic in this genre before. At least that I recall. The visuals in Cloudpunk look stunning and hopefully, the gameplay will match. According to the release information, the city plays just as an important part as the characters you encounter such as androids, AI and humans.

As massive cyberpunk genre fans we had plenty of chances to make a game about shooting people in a futuristic city. With Cloudpunk we wanted to instead focus on what it’s like to experience a cyberpunk city, to live in there as a struggling delivery driver

Cloudpunk is looking to be a decent looking title and quite tempted to hook up the PC to get the first glimpse of this cyberpunk game. In addition to the focus on an everyday courier driver in a bustling city, there are other features to be had in the game:

  • Explore an immense vertical cyberpunk city with your hover car and on foot
  • Unravel mysteries in a world of corporate conspiracy, hackers and rogue AI through the eyes of Rania
  • Meet a diverse range of characters and immerse yourself in their everyday lives
  • Your decisions will have a lasting impact on the inhabitants of Nivalis
  • Discover hidden places and items unlocking additional stories

You sneaky Steamsters will get this before us console types on the 23rd of April, and for the rest of us, it will be out later in the year. Definitely one to watch out for.
