Creature In The Well Out Now On The PS4

Out now for all major platforms is Creature In The Well, a pinball-inspired hack and slash from developers Flight School Studio, with MWM Interactive on publishing duties. Wait a sec: pinball-inspired hack and slash?

Why now? Why not! The game is already available on Steam, Xbox One and the Switch, but now it gets its release on the PS4. The game focuses on the last remaining BOT-C unit, given the task of restoring power in an ancient factory hunted by ‘the Creature’. If you fail to restore the power, then the city of Mirage will be devoured by a sandstorm.

What can you expect from Creature in the Well?

  • Pinball with swords: Charge up energy orbs, then bounce and ricochet them to reactivate dormant machinery and stop the sandstorm.
  • Defeat the Creature: Escape the many challenges set by the Creature and confront it in intricate, skilful battles.
  • Dungeon-crawler: Delve deeper into the mountain as you unlock eight hand-crafted dungeons, each filled with unique gameplay themes, unlockables, and secrets to uncover.
  • Over 20 unique items: Customize your playstyle with upgradeable weapons and clothing that change how you play the game.

Again, this focus on pinball is unique. Will it work? From the various footage of Creature in the Well, it looks fantastic and has a similar art style to Terrorhythm (TRRT), only an isometric viewpoint, and you aren’t fixed to the spot.

On a side note, released today is a 70+ page digital art book that showcases the various drawings, paintings and concept art from the art director, Adam Volker. Also, you can download the original soundtrack by Jim Fowler from the games Steam page.

In the meantime, Creature in the Well is available now for all major platforms, plus the bonus of the artbook and soundtrack for Steam users.
