Cryptmaster Ain't Nuthin' But A Monochromatic Rat Licker
It’s been a while since Cryptmaster was mentioned on these pages, and now Akupara Games and developers Paul Hart and Lee Williams have confirmed a release date for May on PC.
It’s a bizarre dungeon crawler in which you can get involved in ‘dark fantasy fishing, boisterous bard battles, radically overly-righteous rats and many other spectacular speedbumps that’ll be sure to put a wrench in your journey’. That sounds delicious.
In Cryptmaster, ‘words control everything’, you’ll fill in the blanks to uncover lost abilities, embark on strange quests and solve mind-bending riddles. Still there? Here are some of the key features:
- Say Anything You Want – Interact with the world and conquer quests by typing or speaking any word you can think of – each encounter has multiple solutions to discover!
- A Weird, Wild World – Travel through mysterious underground kingdoms and meet talking doors, flirtatious toads, sarcastic ghouls, and more.
- Use Your Words – Dungeon battles are fueled by words – decipher forgotten spells, then type their names in battle to unleash the might of your undead heroes.
- Endlessly Evolving Gameplay – You’ll constantly encounter new gameplay mechanics – from creature collecting, to card combat, to bard rap-battles & more.

Cryptmaster is coming to PC platforms (at the very least, Steam) on the 9th of May 2024.
