While everyone counted the days to Cyberpunk 2077 or Hitman 3Cyanide and Happiness Freakpocalypse had been one of the titles high on my radar.

Aside from being a point and click adventure, it’s an official game from the genius writers and illustrators at Explosm; a webcomic that has kept me sane(!) for well over a decade, and if you’re aren’t familiar with it, I encourage you to check them out. No doubt you’ve seen one of their animations on YouTube.

Anyhoo, some time ago, I had the opportunity of playing Cyanide and Happiness Freakpocalypse during an early Steam Game Festival, and the result was a proper mouth-watering cliffhanger of adventure goodness, with tonnes of humour at the forefront.

Set in high school, you have to outwit the classic stereotypes with an Explosm flair, such as the jocks and hall monitors. As expected from their dark humour, you unlock plenty of insights into the sub-human groups you associate with as school, featuring plenty of in-jokes, but not so that it discriminates to newcomers. If you like dick and fart jokes, kaboom.

The biggest disappointment with the demo was that it finished. I’ve been monitoring the wishlist for updates for ages, and now a date has been set, and it’s next month.

Without further ado, a Cyanide and Happiness Freakpocalypse trailer.

When is that date? Cyanide and Happiness Freakpocalypse is set for the 11th of September and not only for Steam but for the Nintendo Switch too!
