Part of the Deathtrap Dungeon series (it’s in the name) by legendary fantasy author Ian Livingstone, this interactive movie, or FMV, depicts the tale of the Brave Adventurer that faces the trials of Dungeon Master Vhadidra.
Naturally, the visuals are brilliant – they’re real people – and the production is high-quality. As a qualified studier of film, it’s clear to see that no time was wasted in getting a varied shot for every sequence, and the energy in each one is excellent.
I was mildly reserved at one point in the ten minutes demo in replaying memories of the kid’s show Knightmare and Limmy’s Falconhoof, but as I always wanted to go on the former, and a keen reader of Livingstone, Deathtrap Dungeon: The Golden Room is the next best thing.
Like similar FMVs like Dark Nights With Poe and Munro, you have a short space of time (streamer’s get a pause option) to choose an option. Unlike the classic books, you can’t peer ahead a few pages ahead and may find yourself dying as I did. In a demo…
