Dorfromantik: An Early Access Chill Based Tile City Builder?

In one of those rare occasions of sifting through tweets, I found details on an Early Access title named Dorfromantik – a strategy game that claims to be both a city builder and chill experience?

Not everyone posts on the PR boards or sends out mailshots, so it’s nice to stumble across Toukana Interactive’s title. Two keywords prompted this post; relaxing and city builder, not a combination that goes hand-in-hand – regardless of whether you’re a fan of the genre or not, but that’s what it says on the box.

Dorfromantik is a chill puzzle game where you place titles to expand your little utopia of idyllic landscapes. Using procedurally generated tiles, you place them accordingly where you see fit. This rewards you with points, so there is a challenge aspect for those inclined to beat the high score.

Featuring a wealth of colourful biomes and even quests for particular tiles that will grant you more points, there’s plenty of variety, even when your stack of tiles run out and it’s game over.

Ket features in Dorfromantik include:

  • Building endless and beautiful landscapes
  • Unique mix of strategy and puzzle mechanics
  • Relaxing and calming gameplay
  • Idyllic village scenery
  • Strategic placement to beat the high score
  • High replay value – every session is different
  • Many unlockable tiles and biomes
  • Original Artstyle with handpainted boardgame feel
