It Just Got Real: Flashback 2 Release Date Confirmed
How real can games get?” was one of the questions my friends and I asked after first seeing Prince of Persia, Mortal Kombat, and of course, Flashback for the first time. Now 30 years after its release, the latter gets a sequel: Flashback 2. It just got real.
In the recent trailer, we glimpse New Washington – the cyberpunk city where the game takes place, as opposed to the jungles of Titan in the first. Yes, the original hero, Conrad, returns with the help of AI-powered weapon A.I.S.H.A., searching for his long lost friend Ian and taking on the ‘fearsome’ General Lazarus.
Key features in Flashback 2 include:
- A vibrant sci-fi/cyberpunk universe full of immersive environments including New Tokyo, New Washington, and the Jungles of Titan.
- Use A.I.S.H.A., a lethal adaptive weapon enhanced with combat AI.
- A gripping, fluid and intricate platform shooter.
- A 3D environment crafted for even deeper immersion.
- Designed and developed by the creator of the original, Paul Cuisset.
Here’s what New Washington looks like:
This ain’t no clickbait: Flashback 2 comes out on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch on the 16th of November, 2023, courtesy of Microids.
