Forget The Steam Deck, Get Gamedec For The Nintendo Switch

I recently wrote a cyberpunk list, and in hindsight, Gamedec would be one of those to be added. This is the first time I’ve come across Anshar Studio’s game, originally launched last year on PC, but now it’s heading to the Nintendo Switch.

Published by Untold Tales, this cyberpunk noir detective RPG looks absolutely fantastic and has a similar presentation to the publisher’s other title, Beautiful Desolation. It’s combat-free, but the RPG aspect is related to the decision-making and narrative branching.

Emphasis is placed on player freedom. In Gamedec, you play within a virtual game world, using your codex and deduction skills to pinpoint your theory. There are multiple conclusions, and ‘consequences can be immediate, long-term, or even hidden’. Choices matter!!!

Gamedec has whet my appetite. After the excellent Lamplight City, I’m keen for some more investigating, but with a cyberpunk flavour. It’ll be out on the Switch from the 1st of July with a 40% discount.
