Available on Steam as a playable demo (ever the more reason to get a PC setup, methinks), Ghostrunner is a cyberpunk parkour action game.
From developers One More Level Games, 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks (behind Ion Fury – out later this month), the game will be published by All in! Games.
If you like to frequent trade shows, you may have already seen this in action. Still, for the majority of everyone else, you play a cyber warrior that glides across the dystopian terrain with the kind of finesse you’d expect from a ninja from the future.
Getting a whiff of Mirror’s Edge is a good thing, and it’s about time there’s another parkour game out for those of us who trip over their own shoelaces.
Ghostrunner isn’t solely running and jumping, but you have the ability to one-hit kill enemies – on that basis, it’s fair to assume that they can hit back just as hard.
As part of the resistance named Climbers, you take on the Keymaster’s regime, implementing cybernetic implants to help with bullet dodging and wall running.
I can only speak for myself, but I’m wiping the drool away now.
Bear in mind that the Ghostrunner demo is only available until the 13th of May, so don’t dawdle. There’s also no release date as yet. Once you’ve played the demo, however, let me know what it’s like!
