An inspiration behind the name for this site, and one of my all-time favourite games on the Spectrum (look it up), Arthur is back in Ghosts N Goblins Resurrection on the Nintendo Switch.

Enter the Demon Realm as Arthur sets out to rescue the princess once more – hopefully with not as much difficulty as the original. Broken down into zones, he takes on the Skeleton Murderer and Red Arremer, among others.

With eight different weapons – such as the hammer and spiked ball, Ghosts N Goblins Resurrection has a little more variety than before, and the art style is wicked.

But there’s more: there’s not a two-player co-op, so Arthur is joined by Barry, the barrier guy, Kerry the carrier (don’t worry, no further lockdowns with – he carries Arthur) and Archie, who creates bridges, and not metaphorically.

Perhaps the biggest lure is the difficulty level. It’s embarrassing having not finished the original, but an olive branch is there for the taking as there are three difficulties in Ghosts N Goblins Resurrection: Squire, Knight and Legend. Despite my rank, I’ll be opting for Squire.
