Coming to the Switch this Halloween, Gibbous A Cthulhu Adventure, a point and click title which found success on the PC.

Holy crap – 10 seconds in on the trailer and I want in. The artwork in the game is insanely good (great wording there), and as a relatively new PC gamer (again), I missed this when it came out in 2016 on Steam and GOG.

Now we have the title heading to the Nintendo Switch which seems to be the new console home for the classic point and click adventure.

From Stuck in Attic (official game site), who I hasten to add are from Transylvania, Gibbous A Cthulhu Adventure features detective Don R. Ketype, librarian Buzz Kerwan and a talking cat, who isn’t happy about this new conversational skill.

The story follows the hunt for the Necronomicon to prevent it from reaching the hands of an evil cult, and the trip reluctantly works together to save us from this possible outcome.

Featuring hand-painted scenes, there’s a lot on offer in Gibbous A Cthulhu Adventure:

  • Over 60 hand-painted, detailed environments inspired by Transylvanian architecture and nature
  • Fluid traditional 2D animation
  • Two protagonists and a talking ca– Okay, three. Three protagonists
  • 70+ fully voiced characters, including a special guest appearance by Doug Cockle, voice of the Witcher
  • A lush original soundtrack featuring live instruments
  • Integrated hint system to help you when you’re stuck
  • Lovingly made near Vlad the Impaler’s birthplace
  • No cutesifying or making fun of the Old Ones, praise their Dark Names

Here’s a gameplay trailer:

Gibbous A Cthulhu Adventure will be available on the 28th of October for the Nintendo Switch.
