Adapted from one of the best-rated board games of all time, dungeon-crawling RPG Gloomhaven release date has been confirmed for next month on Steam.
Considering the last board game I played that is remotely close to this is Hero Quest, I can probably say I know about as much at this title as I know about life. Nothing.
Fear not! That’s what a news piece is! Gloomhaven is a title that has been in Early Access for the past two years from Asmodee Digital and Flaming Fowl Studios, featuring 12 major updates and countless improvements.
Based on the board game designed by Isaac Childres, there is over 95 stories and event missions, 170 missions from the Guildmaster campaign, with well over 200 hours of card-based gameplay. That’s always an estimate, as it’s potentially way more than that.
It’s worth noting that ‘difficult’ occurs in the promotional material quite a lot, so this could be a very challenging game if you haven’t already tasted the Early Access version. In addition to the solo options, you can also lasso up four friends for an online co-op.
The game is expected to come out of Early Access on the 20th of October 2021 for Steam and GOG, priced at £27.79 / €34,99 / $34.99.
