From the same publisher that brought us The Longing, comes a point and click adventure suited for all ages. Is Growbot an animated storybook? It sure looks like one.

That’s no coincidence as Growbot is the brainchild of Lisa Evans (Wasabi Play) – a UK-based illustrator who brings had gorgeous designs to life after teaching herself Unity.

Growbot Review: The Asteroid Kew Is My Jam
Growbot is the closest you’ll get to a space adventure without being chummy with Bezos.

A 2D adventure, your job is to help the robot Nara save her home ‘from a dark crystalline force’ in a biopunk space station crammed with all sorts of wonderful plant life and aliens.

Key features in Growbot include:

  • Explore a beautiful space station and repair its strange machinery.
  • Interact with fantastic plants and aliens.
  • Use your Brain(apilla) to solve puzzles.
  • Collect the sounds of flowers and combine them to create powerful shields.
  • Meet a fluffy white hologram called Star Belly with a galaxy inside.
  • Unearth a tale of flower power with twisted roots.
  • Art by award winning illustrator Lisa Evans.
  • Beautiful music by musician Jessica Fichot.

The amount of times I refer to the artwork in games as ‘storybook quality’ seems appropriate now, as this truly is stunning.

Growbot release date is the 21st of October 2021 for PC, Mac and Linux (Steam, and GOG).
