Gotta Catch Just One: Indie Puzzler Headlong Hunt Available On Steam
An indie dev game me my break when going solo, so I’m all for championing indie games should someone drop me a line, but I hadn’t had much scope to stay on top of things. Headlong Hunt is already available, but if you don’t know about it, here’s the skinny.
The concept is simple: capture a creature by indirectly leading it to a trap, implementing forward-thinking and stealth tactics that don’t undo your strategy. Apparently, it’s quite similar to A Monster’s Expedition – one of my favourite Switch puzzle games, so high acclaim, indeed.
Key features in Headlong Hunt include:
- Over 100 expertly-crafted puzzles
- Elegant mechanics which elaborate on the central theme and interact in surprising ways
- A seamless overworld map, with two main paths and optional islands
- Unique painterly art style and atmospheric original soundtrack
- Smooth controls including undo and undo through reset
- Full controller support and control rebinding
Some moving images to complement these words:
The one advantage of writing about a game late is you don’t have to wait around for a release date – it’s already out, and Toombler Games’ puzzler has positive feedback.
