It’s rare to see a title such as Heaven’s Vault, a game from Inkle Studio, with a ‘massive branching storyline and an entire ancient language to decipher’, especially when it’s now on the Nintendo Switch.

I struggle with English (native!) and Japanese, let alone an ancient one, but just reading the opening synopsis had me interested, as I’m sure it will with a lot other, more intelligent gamers.

You play as Aliya Elasra, an archaeologist on a mission to locate a missing roboticist on the lookout for some ancient relics. Accompanied by your robot assistant, Six, you have to solve a historical mystery and linguistic puzzles that reveal the region’s earliest secrets.

First released on PC and PlayStation 4Heaven’s Vault has been optimised for the Nintendo Switch so that it can be played in both docked and handheld mode.
