How Much Is A Playdate? What Is A Playdate? Where Is My Playdate? Is That A Crank
Where on Earth can I get Mars After Midnight other than the Playdate? Wait a second – what is the Playdate? Excluding my mobile and the Nintendo Switch, I’m not a fan of handhelds, but this device and the supporting software are c’est magnifique!
Alas, the game in question is exclusive to the Playdate, which is an expensive game at $199. Then again, this device developed by Panic, with the help of Teenage Engineering, looks so much more than a gimmick. Think of the Pocket Operator series, only gaming-related, plus it features a crank.
Besides a one-armed-bandit (not a euphemism), the crank is an often overlooked peripheral, criminally ignored by Nintendo and others, just wind up this bad boy and watch what happens on the high-res-not-a-Kindle-monochrome screen.
The games maketh the console, and considering I’d buy a Playdate solely for Mars After Midnight, every other title would be a bonus. But get this: the Playdate features this season-based release schedule where:
Once you set up your Playdate, you’ll start to receive two brand new games… every week. For 12 weeks.
Sounds… interesting. I’m in. There’s an additional speaker dock too? Now it’s gimmicky. Perhaps, but I want. I’m accepting hardware reviews *wink wink*
