Iron Lung Plunges Into The Depths On Steam

My FPS phase has subsided, and instead, I’m looking at quite a few indie horror games – mostly erring on the psychological. I’m not for horror in general as I scare easily in games, but Iron Lung has piqued my interest.

Set in a one-man submarine, you have to snap photos of your surroundings, all the while something… ominous may or may not be in the water with you. That alone scares me even if there’s nothing there. At least the Bladerunner like zoom effects are calming.

Developed by David Szymanski (who made Dusk – an FPS from 2018 that’s ‘overwhelmingly positive’ on the ol’ rating system on Steam), it’s a short experience of approximately an hour. Still, that could be subjective, as I’d probably struggle at the title screen.

I adore titles that evoke a mood, and I can’t think of a setting much scarier than a sub. Well, perhaps a lighthouse. Check out the trailer:

Iron Lung is available on Steam from tomorrow, the 10th of March. Store link below.
