Are You Prepared For A Journey Beyond The Edge Of The World?

Those unable to attend this year's Gamescom can still play the in-development title Journey Beyond the Edge of the World by Markus Koepke, which is currently available to experience as a demo via Steam.

A first-person atmospheric adventure, the game is set in 1953, but it's a 'surreal retro sci-fi story' where you solve environmental puzzles and experience rope physics amidst a treacherous storm.

Implementing low-poly, pixelated visuals with atmospheric lighting and realistic water simulation, Journey Beyond the Edge of the World uses spatial audio (best played with headphones) using the in-game Temporal Resonance Localiser device, telling the tale through narrated ambient tracks.

Though in the development stages without a confirmed release date, you can now play the demo via Steam.
