Knights and Bikes Out Next Week For The Switch

Knights and Bikes Nintendo Switch release

As a fan of Double Fine, I was pleased to see that their title Knights and Bikes is currently listed on the Nintendo eShop, for release next week.

When deciding whether to cover a few more LucasArts games in my reviews, Double Fine would often pop up, what with Grim Fandango Remastered and Full Throttle Remastered being available on consoles (I don’t have a valid gaming PC) and of course a newer title I reviewed fairly recently, RAD.

Going through my list of games I’d like to get around to playing, Broken Age came up as well as Knights and Bikes – the latter being on the PS4. I was tempted to get the latter but as is always the case, I didn’t get around to it but seeing that it will be available on the Switch – my go-to-platform for this sort of adventure, things are looking peachy.

What’s it all about? Knights and Bikes is a classic coming-of-age story where two friends, Nessa and Demelza, go on a quest (on bikes) to explore an ancient island. On this adventure is their pet goose Captain Honkers. We all have a new found love for geese, right?

As always, the presentation is fantastic with some uniquely styled characters and locations which you would expect from Double Fine, but they’re the publishers here – the developers for the game being Foam Sword who has done a cracking job should it be judged on appearances.

I could skip to the answers page and just read what someone else has already said about the game on other platforms, but as it’s out next week, I’m holding out and will review it first-hand. Pending the mountain of titles can be shifted before the week closes, I’ll be aiming to play it over the weekend when it comes out.

Knights and Bikes will be available on the Nintendo eShop from the 6th February. In the meantime, check out The Ramones-inspired trailer below:
