Lucy Dreaming Walkthrough: Chapter 1
Who else is stuck on Lucy Dreaming and needs a walkthrough? Shame on you for looking one up! I kid – if the internet existed when I was stuck at the volcano in LSL: Looking For Love, I’d have leapt at the chance.
As with all my walkthroughs, I try to be accurate and perhaps add a little bloat here and there to make it personal, but the main goal is to help you out.
If you can resist, work out the puzzles yourself, as that’s more satisfying, but I still feel your pain, hence this Lucy Dreaming walkthrough. But remember: if you skip any dialogue you haven’t experienced, I will find you.
Lucy Dreaming Walkthrough: Chapter 1
After the intro, pick up the fish food and use it with Clive the piranha. While he’s eating, pick up the treasure chest in the tank to get a key and use it on your diary. Pick up both bits of stuffing, leave the room, collect three more, and head downstairs.
Take the first door on the right to the lounge and pick up the psychology book and the lip balm on top of the magazine next to it. The book tells you how to build a dream box. Exit the room and go left into the garage.
Take the pliers on the wall, followed by the backpack, then use the socket above the washing machine to turn it off. Use the washing machine to retrieve some wet clothes. Use the lint drawer at the bottom to get some lint. Take the small box off the shelf.
Back inside the lounge, use the wet clothes on the ceiling fan and turn it on twice to dry the clothes. Use them to get changed. Leave the room, take the bog brush from the table to the left and interact with the clock, turning the time to 1 o’clock. Return to the lounge, use the bog brush on the fireplace, and head upstairs.
Take a left and look through the keyhole and talk to your brother, Lloyd, then look at the cage to hear about his gerbil. In Lucy’s bedroom, take the joke book on the top shelf and repeatedly use it on Geoff the flytrap (until Lucy says it’s the last one) for them to drop a key. Pick it up, use it on the top drawer, and take the duck tape.
Downstairs, use the duck tape on the hole next to the lounge and turn the clock back to 1 o’clock. Pick up the wellies with the gerbil, go back to Lloyds room, and look at Mr Fumble. Tell Lloyd you have his gerbil and want to exchange, but he won’t let you in. Go downstairs outside, then use the gerbil on the far right drainpipe. Pick up Mr Fumble, use the lint and stuffing, and return inside.
To the left, pick up the badger’s loose eye to get that and a thread, and to the right, use the pliers on the hook at the top of the fish (right of the stairs). Use the pliers on the hook again to straighten it and then combine with the thread. Use the sewing kit on Mr Fumble. Now, use the lip balm on the box and take it to Lucy’s bedroom, placing it on the luxurious carpet next to the bed. Read the joke bookPlace Mr Fumble and the joke book inside and use the bed to enter the dream world.
Use the broken rope to the left of the curtain and ask Mr Fumble to hold onto it, then use the brake to his left. Talk to the barman, and after exhausting the options, use the mic on the stage. You’ll need to score max points with your jokes, so use the following (abbreviated to speed this walkthrough up).
- Did you hear Snoop Dogg’s… ===> It was a venus…
- Why don’t carnivorous plants… ===> Because their flies…
- Why did the pitcher plant… ====> It was easy to stick to…

Important: make a note of your score – it’ll be a 3-digit passcode and you can’t retrieve it later (that I’m aware of). After telling all the above, speak with the barman about your score, and he’ll give you Herman. Use the pitcher to return to reality. Lucy will put away the box, so jump back into bed, then use Herman as you fall.
