Ninja Gaiden Master Collection Out This Summer - Relive The Rage Quit!
Master, master. Master of ninjas – you know how the classic metal track goes. For those who don’t know, Ryu Hayabusa is the King of the Ninjas. Well, one of them, and he finally gets acknowledgement in Ninja Gaiden Master Collection.
Not the hard-as-nails NES version; this is a trilogy of 3D action that came out on the PS3 and Xbox 360 yonks ago and were brilliant. Ninja Gaiden Sigma was possibly my first proper rage quit where I smashed a controller (the lava bit, for veterans of the game), and Ninja Gaiden Master Collection allows me to relive it – yay!
This is Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo’s works, and they’re making sure that both current-gen console and PC gamers get to experience these classics, featuring numerous game modes and DLC costumes.
The titles include are:
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
- Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge
Can you believe that the first game from the series came out in 2007? Still a seed in the sack? Now’s your chance to play (or relive) on your favourite machine. Just not the dishwasher. They haven’t been functional games machines since the Starwing FX chip.
It’s not just Ryu that you get to play in the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection but Ayane, Rachel and Momiji. DOA fans will also be pleased to see the return of Kasumi too.
NINJA GAIDEN is one of the most important and monumental titles for the Team NINJA brand, but we haven’t been able to release the series title on current generation platforms, so I am very delighted to be able to release it in this format as a trilogy… If you enjoy challenging action games, we hope you will give it a try

Aside from being available through the PS4 and Xbox One (backwards compatibility for new consoles) and the PC, Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is heading to the Nintendo Switch too. We have to wait until 10th June 2021, but there’ll be other games you can always play.
Coincidentally, Nioh 2 (read the PC review NOW!) is from the same development team, and owners of the game will be able to play as Ryu Hayabusa with his Dragon Skin. I’ve already downloaded it and will wear my new skin like a serial killer in the next ten minutes…
