Old Skies, The Latest Wadjet Eye Games Title Coming To Steam Next Fest

I recently mentioned Wadjet Eye Games in the Lamplight City review, comparing the game to their high standards. Well, it’s exciting to note that their latest game, Old Skies, is heading to Steam Next Fest.

Legend has it that the game was entered into a game jam back in 2019 by founder, Dave Gilbert, using a pseudonym. Pfft! Who uses pseudonyms these days!? Currently in development, the game is set in seven time periods of New York, ranging from the Gilded Age to Prohibition to the eve of September the 11th.

In Old Skies, you play as Fia Quinn – a ChronoZen time agent who hops through times, allowing their affluent clientele to tinker with time. Key features in the game include:

  • Seven time periods to explore, from Prohibition-era speakeasies to the criminal underworld of the Gilded Age to the World Trade Center on September 10, 2001.
  • High resolution 1920×1080 graphics. (That’s three times higher than Unavowed!)
  • Puzzles that require temporal thinking to solve.
  • Death! You CAN die in this adventure game, but time travel means you can try again. And again. And again.
  • Musical score by Thomas Regin, the composer for Unavowed and the Blackwell series.
  • Professional voice acting with Wadjet Eye’s largest cast yet.

Here’s the latest trailer:

As Old Skies is currently in development, there’s no release date yet, but you’ll be able to play this during the Steam Next Fest, which kicks off on the 13th of June.
