Othercide Coming This Month And It's Not Greener

Othercide proves there’s more to those shades of grey in this tactical combat title out this month.

I’m just going to write this up so I can go back and watch the trailer again – Othercide looks stunning, and I’m all for joining. On the other side, of course.

Out at the end of the month, you play ‘Humanity’s last hope’. A bit cliche, but the choice of characters in the game are your daughters (remember that one night in Paris?…) so there’s a connection already in that you want them to succeed.

A tactical combat title, developers Lightbulb Crew have created the Dynamic Timeline System; through each successful battle against the hordes of Suffering, your team grows stronger, but you have to make sacrifices to get there.

But that’s not it. Rather than control individual units, you can control events and when something happens in the timeline, which can include interrupting an enemy attack or unleashing a combo.

Core features include:

  • Lead, evolve and sacrifice your army of Daughters
  • Outsmart nightmarish creatures in a spectacular Tactical RPG
  • Endless combat possibilities with the Dynamic Timeline System
  • A deep and complex narrative
  • Failure is not the end. Return with lost powers to face a new nightmare

Focus Home Interactive publishes Othercide, also behind the excellent The Council adventure series.

For only a brief few minutes, you can witness the gameplay and beautiful world that the Suffering aim to take from you and your Daughters:

Available on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One on the 28th July with the Nintendo Switch version to follow in the summer. Pre-orders are available now from the Steam page which includes the OST and artbook bundle.
