You may recall some Ranch Simulator Early Access coverage earlier in the year (it seems like last year!). Well, Toxic Dog and Excalibur Games’ title just got its biggest update yet, including new facilities.

Ranch Simulator is the same opener as any other; your grandfather popped his clogs and left you… a ranch. You’re left to salvage what’s left and find a means of earning money from livestock so you can upgrade your facilities and create an army proud enough to fill an ark – should the need arise.

My issue with the game was driving back and forth with little to no interaction, but scraping past that, it was massively therapeutic to be whisked away in the middle of nowhere to build my barn, and arguably, this was the best part: building.

Well, good reader, Ranch Simulator’s new update means you can dip into a list of foundations, walls, doors, stairs, roofs, coops, fences, feeders and more. If you’re into this side of things, the House Flipper series would be good and all, but what makes this stands out is the unique ranch element. It’s in the title.

I dare you to create a farm and not name your livestock after Tarantino characters or Wu-Tang members. The negative side of naming them is you get attached, and when you need to buy a new roof, Inspectah Deck is first to go, followed by Mr Pink. Sorry.

Additional upgrades include a new map, improved visuals and a smoother experience. You can even breed piglets, so even Wu-Tang doesn’t have enough members to fill the naming ceremony.

You can read my thoughts on the Early Access here. As for a trailer, boom:

Ranch Simulator is currently in Early Access and worthy of a review (as in play) once more.
