As a fan of the first Re:Turn, it’s great to say the sequel, ReTurn 2 Runaway get a playable demo during the Steam Next Fest.

Very much an improvement on the last adventure featuring protagonist, Saki, she can now hide, use a flashlight and sprint. Perhaps the last one was in the first game, I can’t recall. Regardless, these are decent improvements to an already intriguing title.
Continuing from the harrowing adventure on the train, Saki finds herself and Sen still in the carriageways, pursued by the evil spirit. Spoilers galore, this time you see it within the first few minutes but can now sprint past it during its ‘blind spot’ moments.
ReTurn 2 Runaway Preview
As before, this is a side-scrolling adventure with a few point and click traits, well, more puzzle-based, where you have to locate items and combine them and interact with them accordingly.
Unfortunately, this demo from original developers Red Ego Games is very short, but enough of a teaser to get excited about the upcoming release.
When is the sequel coming? Not sure. It currently states ‘coming soon’ on the Steam page, but judging by these updates and the new animation sequence, it’s worth waiting for/wishlisting.
A brief entry here, much like the ReTurn 2 Runaway demo. If it’s piqued your interest, you can see a taster of the gameplay below. Unfamiliar with the original? Here’s a link to the Re:Turn review.
