A middle-aged teddy bear might insinuate someone from the swinging 60s (though they wouldn’t be middle-aged), but in this case, it’s the real thing in Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die!

You play a walkin’, talkin’ teddy bear from the glory days of the hair metal era. Their purpose in life is no longer licking the (toilet) bowls of society but to get the band back. Or die trying?

Rock ‘N’ Roll Will Never Die! For Those About To Rock...
Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! gets two thumbs up from me.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! is a point and click from Valtteri Tavast and Instant Million, and a hilarious one at that. In the demo, you’ll briefly be intimate with the toilet floor and meet the locals at the local bar. Your goal is simple: talk to ex-bandmate Leo, but you need a beer to do that. Got no money? You need to do an errand for the bartender, play cupid, but before all this, get into gambling.

First impressions? The animation is a bit jerky – not in the skin flicks sense, but when moving around, it judders. I don’t typically notice this sort of thing, but this happened from the outset, and point and clicks aren’t graphic-intensive. Shame then, as the visuals are brilliant.

The dialogue is on par too. It’s on point throughout the Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! demo, with subtle quips and rock references such as The Ace of Spades. Novelty fonts are precisely that, but they work well in terms of the dialogue options.

Rock n Roll Will Never Die Walkthrough
Living the dream but facing a point and click nightmare - what object to use with what? Here’s a Rock n Roll Will Never Die walkthrough.

I do realise that I don’t have that much to say about Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! other than it’s very funny and well worth a look if the demo is still live. The game is out now, and once I’ve completed a few reviews, will be looking at adding this to my collection.

Give it some love, man.
