It’s fair to say that calling someone a chicken in the upcoming horror game Saborus is accurate. You are a chicken, and you’re trying to escape the horrors of an industrial slaughterhouse. Thanks, Jean Lima. This is going to be horrific!

Currently in the early stages of development, the game premiered at the OTK Games Expo via Steam for only two days. Did you miss it? Yes, you did, as fellow press folks who’ve already played it will unlikely read about it here.

The premise behind Saborus is unusual. It is not a preachy statement from PETA. Instead, it draws upon the developer’s own experience when his beloved pet chicken died. The game’s title comes from a large, fictitious food industry company.

In the game, you’ll serve puzzles with just your beak and escape certain death or from the experiments of genetic manipulation prevalent within the company. Sounds heavy going, but fascinating.

There isn’t a Saborus release date confirmed, but iw will be coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and the Nintendo Switch. It’ll be published by QUByte Interactive.
