If there isn’t any sand in Sand Land, it’ll be a disservice to sand fans and those who enjoy sandwiches made of sand. Don’t shoot the messenger – I don’t deliver the sand (or lack of it); I just report the news – like this new Bandai Namco game out at the end of the month.

Featuring characters imagined by the late Akira Toriyama for the purposes of the game and anime series, the game tells the tale of Forest Land, who just so happens to neighbour the titular province led by Muniel.

Muniel aims to save the land by getting a supply of Aquanium – a powerful yet dangerous resource, and they won’t back down without a fight. Expect gorgeous art by Toriyama, quirky characters, and menus and licence screens galore from the text-lovin’ publisher.

Sand Land is out on the 26th of April 2024 for PC, both PlayStations and both Xboxes.
