The Overcooked model has proved successful with the likes of Moving OutCannibal Cuisine and Bake ‘n Switch. Now we have a new co-op title in Shakes on a Plane, available on PC and Nintendo Switch.

From Assemble Entertainment and developer Huu Games, your role is to provide ‘a timely, relaxing, culinary experience at 30,000 feet to a host of hungry and impatient passengers before the plane reaches its destination’.

Shakes on a Plane sounds like absolute hell, but depending on who your friends are, it’s doable. If in my position, you’ll probably have a 10-year old who thinks it’s funny to sabotage your progress. Fingers crossed you can kick them out of the plane without a parachute.

Surprisingly, nobody else has thought of something like Shakes on a Plane until now as serving demanding customers while in the sky in a tin can is the perfect environment when it comes too urgency.

Shakes on a Plane takes the wit, humour, and simple fun that Assemble titles are known for and adds some surprisingly intense and chaotic multiplayer action…It’s a goofy and colorful game built on a rock-solid platform that fans of the genre will certainly enjoy.

Other features in Shakes on a Plane include:

  • Flying is Fun…Right?: Crying babies, obnoxious drunks, impatient business class fliers…It’s not your job to pick the passengers, but it is your job to keep them satisfied with delicious treats and tasty beverages.
  • Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Grab up to three other players to build your ideal team of talented flight attendants, but don’t forget that you’re locked with them inside a narrow metal tube at 30,000 feet — coordination, cooperation, and patience are the keys to a successful flight.
  • I Didn’t Order the Fish: Attention to detail is vital to keeping your impatient passengers sated with enough fast food to hopefully put them to sleep for the remainder of the flight. Make sure you get the right order to the right person, on time, or the cabin might get a tad unpleasant…
  • Putting the F in First Class…And UFO: Don’t get too comfortable…each plane has a different layout, forcing players to adapt on the “fly” and perfectly plan their food delivery path.
