News of the next Shin Chan game, Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town, couldn't come at a better time, what with us being in Japan at the moment (place name drop much?) - the little tyke is everywhere!
In his latest adventure, already available in Japan, Shin chan and the Nohara family visit Akita, staying in a traditional Japanese farmhouse in a small village. Here, Shin Chan's grandfather, Ginnosuke, teaches him how to catch bugs and fish; then, in the evenings, the family gather to taste the local dishes.
However, Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town has a slight Spirited Away twist. Shin Chan boards a mysterious train that takes him to a 'lively and prosperous town that seems to have been frozen in time since the Showa era'. This is the Coal Town of the title, and subsequently, it is where the adventure truly begins.
Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town will be released on October 24, 2024, for Steam and the Nintendo Switch. It is priced at 29.99/39.99 USD/EUR, respectively. However, look out for a Steam launch sale of 26.99 USD/EUR until November 7, 2024.
