Silver Chains Unshackles The Evil In A Victorian Manor In This First-Person Horror

Silver Chains out this month

Horror isn’t my go-to genre in the world of gaming – I’m too much of a wuss, and especially with first-person games such as Cracked Heads Games (Twitter) and Headup Games’ Silver Chains.

Out this month, the game follows Peter, trapped in a 20th century English manor after being involved in a car accident. Reaching out to creepy buildings isn’t anybody’s idea of fun, but he awakes here, not recalling how he arrived.

Though Peter is trying to escape, he has to explore his surroundings searching for clues to the owners and who resides there and uncovers the events that have taken place until now.

Silver Chains isn’t a walking simulator without any threat as evil lurks and haunts your every move, with you solving each puzzle that adds to the bigger picture: what is this place? How did you get here? Can I get Uber to pick me up?

Key features include:

  • An atmospheric horror experience: photo-realistic & detailed graphics bring the interior of an old abandoned mansion to life and an eerie soundtrack will fully immerse you into the game.
  • Story-exploration-game with puzzle- and action elements: Unravel the mysteries of a huge mansion and gain entry into its hidden areas by solving puzzles
  • Beware the dangers lurking in the dark. This evil you cannot fight – run for your life or find a place to hide: Experience intense feelings of horror as you try to escape from the monster chasing you down.

While I can’t deny I’m clenching my arse watching it, it’s the trailer below that’s sold it to me:

Silver Chains is out on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch on the 29th of January.
