How about those little chats you have on your computer being productive for once? Instead of the verbal diarrhoea that comes out of your mouth during a CoD session or shouting at your CPU to, “Work you bastard, work!”, now you can be more civilised as Strange Aeons is a voice-controlled game where you can have a chat with the AI on your computer.
Ok, so we aren’t at Skynet herald Musk’s level yet, but in this indie title from Karolis Dikcius, you’ve been sent to Hell and have to communicate with the AI in the game using your microphone. Hate the sound of your voice or think the feds are listening in? Use your keyboard instead.
Fingering the pages of my Little Book of Excuses on Why I Don’t Play Online, it appears that Strange Aeons is entirely offline, and besides speaking with HAL’s younger brother, it’s a solo experience. Even more intriguing is the occult element with a hint of Lovecraft. It’s like doing a virtual ouija session without all the aggro. What could go wrong – you’re already in Hell.
Here’s an older trailer:
Strange Aeons is out on the 13th of January, and… I’ve just checked: it is on a Friday. Check out the Steam page now and give the demo a go.
