Super Meat Boy Forever is often something I shout in the streets – easily one of my favourite games of all-time (in the short life I’ve lived), but now it’s a reality, for ‘tis the title of the sequel.

Developers, Team Meat, recently released some footage in a live stream, detailing the light and dark worlds in the first four chapters of the game, along with the new game plus mode.

In terms of story, Super Meat Boy Forever follows on with Meat Boy and Bandage Girl as they have a child, Nugget, but has been kidnapped by Dr. Fetus. Cue the team sent to the rescue, along with some new characters.

Meat Boy now sports a bit heavy fist, not because he’s been in lockdown watching Babestation, but he’s bulked up to add a new move to his repertoire. Despite his size, he’s just as agile.

Following the popular choice of a new game plus, Super Meat Boy Forever features randomly generated levels each time the game is completed, perfect for those who mastered the first iteration but can no longer look up a walkthrough. It’s all random!

Much has happened in the decade since Super Meat Boy launched on Xbox Live Arcade. A new generation of consoles came and nearly went, some folks made a movie about the development of Super Meat Boy, 2020 happened and the less said about that the better. And we’re proud that Meat Boy remains as beefy and bloody as ever!

If you haven’t already seen the film, I highly recommend it – Indie Game: The Movie, currently available on Amazon Prime (UK) and well worth the watch for Super Meat Boy, also the development of Fez.

Here’s the live stream if you missed it:

Super Meat Boy Forever is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC, but no dates confirmed just yet.
