A new football game is coming to consoles and the PC this month, and its name is Super Soccer Blast.

Pah, ‘soccer’, still, we know what sport this is, right?

Before reading the insider info on the game, I jumped straight to the trailer and have to say; I’m pretty stoked about this title.

Ignoring the music, the graphics are well polished, the animation adequately oiled, and above all, the game flows as it should.

Even better, there’s player customisation available in Super Soccer Blast, which, quite frankly, we all need.

Again, not that I’m anti the FIFA franchise, but I’m always up for a kick-a-bout with a new footy title and things are looking good.

From Unfinished Pixel, the creators of Super Volley Blast and Super Tennis Blast, the game boasts a cartoon-list aesthetic with classic gameplay, with a focus more on the arcade-style of play than managerial semantics.

Here are some of the features you can expect in Super Soccer Blast (it even comes with a football!):

  • Coin-op inspired gameplay: Accessible controls that enable charging and aiming your shots, perform tackles and dashes, shoot lobs and more. Each move is bound to a specific face or shoulder buttons, creating an instantly accessible control scheme.
  • Test your skills in different leagues and soccer cups in the World Tour mode. Football with the fast-paced and skilled-based gameplay of over-the-top classic sports games such International Superstar Soccer.
  • Geared for couch fun: Up to 4 players on local multiplayer.
  • Customise your player from head to toe with a wide range of looks and accessories. Thousand of possibilities to bring to the grass pitch avatars of yourself, friends, family, your favorite players or famous celebrities.

Yes, yes, you want to see the trailer of a pitch that doesn’t feature a digitised Ronaldo:

When can we expect Super Soccer Blast to kick-off? According to what I have in front of me, the 12th June for PS4 and Xbox One and the Switch and PC by the end of the month.
