The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics Incoming This February

Forget Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part II and Final Fantasy VII remake for a few minutes, one of the games I’m looking forward to right now is the release of The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics, out for the Nintendo Switch and PS4. I’ll be looking at the former, in due course.

If you’re like me, perhaps you can’t get enough of the lore; the Gelfling, Skeksis and Fizzgigs. I grew up with the original film (I wasn’t old enough when it came out, before you do the maths) and my dad was very much into the works of Brian Froud – the visual architect for the book, film and eventual Netflix series.

Hopefully, there will be a new series either this year or next, but in the meantime, let’s see what The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics will be like. From what I know so far, you take on the role of the Gelfling to meet head-on with Skeksis in a series of turn-based RPG missions. Initial reports were 50+ levels, which has now exceeded to 80+ with 15 different character classes/jobs.

The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics will be published by En Masse Entertainment, and developed by BonusXP – the team who brought us Stranger Things 3: The Game. It seems they may have the exclusive on the Netflix brand, so how about Bojack Horseman: The Game, or perhaps a videogame version of The Witcher? Oh, wait…

The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics is slated for release on the 4th February 2020, and I’m genuinely looking forward to it.
