Wait a minute: aren’t Wadjet Eye Games working on Old Skies? What’s this, The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow, then? Wait a minute (x2): this is INCANTAMENTUM by Cloak & Dagger Games!

No word of a lie, this has been at the top of my wishlist since I played the demo and thrilled to see Wadjet publishing it. Set in a rural Victoria location, it’s a folk horror tale where you play Antiquarian Thomasina Bateman.

In The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow, Thomasina is writing a book about the barrows of England but soon finds herself wrapped up in one of ‘those’ plots. If it’s anything like the demo, it’s going to be fantastic. Just a bit of perspective, it’s like Zak McKracken (genre, not humour!) meets The Wicker Man (the proper one).

The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow is due for release later this year on PC, Linux and Mac. Make sure to wishlist it on Steam if it whets your whistle.
