Lords of the Fallen was a surprise indie hit, at least for me. Well, I’m pleased to say that The Lords of the Fallen (note the ‘The’) is an action RPG currently in development and heading to PC and next-gen.

It’s one of those Hollywood buzz words, reboot, as it builds upon the 2014 game, courtesy of HEXWORKS. All in uppercase. Some bloke named Geoff Keighly announced it at Gamescom, and that dude from Metallica, Joseph Quinn, narrated it.

Taking place 1000 years after the first game, The Lords of the Fallen is a new type of adventure packed with NPC quests, compelling characters and a rich narrative. But guess what? There’s co-op play, too!

Key features at this stage include:

  • A vast, interconnected world – over five times larger than the original game
  • An expansive RPG experience – a huge roster of NPCs to meet and stories to uncover
  • Tactical combat – a fast, fluid and challenging combat system
  • Devastating magic – turn the tide of battle with spells and character buffs
  • Uninterrupted online co-op – explore a vast and dark world together
  • Define your legend – full character customisation and progression

And here’s that announcement trailer:

No other bits to share at this time, but one would anticipate that The Lords of the Fallen will be out sometime in 2023, or even later? Watch this space.
