The Plane Effect was coming out in May, according to my mental Rolodex, so I was a bit surprised to see that the demo has been announced for July during the Steam Summer Festival.

So, I looked at my last news piece and realised that there was no date. Perhaps it’s wishful thinking as this new dystopian adventure from developers Studio Kiku, Studio Innovina and publishers PQube looks the business.

The Plane Effect PS5 Review: Every Time A Paper Aeroplane Flaps Its Wings...
How hard can it be to get on a train after a hard day’s work? That’s the least of Solo’s problems in the dystopian The Plane Effect.

Lost in a ‘mind-bending commute from your corporate office job to your home and family’, The Plane Effect explores some intriguing narrative devices and visuals that make this a game that should be on your radar.

Today’s news is related to the recently released 4K screenshots never been seen before (well, they will now as this is being posted later than intended).

Key features in the game include:

  • A mysterious and cinematic journey through a mind-bending, dystopian world
  • Play as Solo, a lonely office worker, as you clock out and embark on an impossible journey home
  • Immerse yourself in a twisted reality as you attempt to comprehend and navigate the inexplicable phenomena around you
  • Solve puzzles and navigate complex environments, or activate ‘Assisted Mode’ for guidance
  • 4K resolution capabilities as well as Ray Tracing enabled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
  • Coming to Nintendo Switch, Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X this Summer

The Plane Effect demo will be available from Steam on the 16th of July. Add to your wishlist.
