A blend of Trek To Yomi, Onimusha, and Harryhausen techniques, The Spirit of the Samurai is an upcoming 2D action-adventure coming to the PC in 2024, courtesy of the just-announced partnership of Digital Mind S.L. and Kwalee (Die By The Blade and Scathe).

A lone samurai, Takeshi, has to fend off the oni and undead army attacking his village. Fortunately, they are not alone as they are joined by a playable kodama and cat, all presented in glorious motion capture. Where they got the kodama from is anyone’s guess…
