Steam Next Fest is upon us once more, and the first ‘official’ post is PQube’s latest demos. The publisher has been having a good year thus far with Kitaria Fables and The Plane Effect, but how about their other titles?

Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers

First up, in alphabetical order, is Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers. Continuing from the 2019 visual novel, it’s a story about finding love in the best possible place – no, not a supermarket, but an arcade.

You’ll get to seek out new friendships, romances and hi-scores with the six new characters, character creator and much, much more…

Here’s the Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers trailer:

Die After Sunset

Next up is the third-person action rogue-lite shooter *breathe* Die After Sunset. Using a light and dark mechanic, you have five unique levels to raid and salvage Earth’s dignity. That’s right; it’s full of wrong ‘uns – locally known as the Murkor invasion.

As with any title in the genre, no two runs are the same, there’s a heap of loot to find, and you’ll even be able to do a co-op in a free update for the game, currently in Early Access. There are two things left to do:

The Dragoness: Command of the Flame

The third entry is The Dragoness – a combination of HOMM-like exploration, city-building and turn-based combat with a rogue-lite twist. Before going any further, if you’re also that 5% who doesn’t know what HOMM is (I’m in that group), it’s Heroes of Might and Magic. Aahhhh… know of it, but nothing about it.

Anyhoo, in a world ravaged by war, your role is to rebuild the lands, commanding an army of beasts. Humans are so overrated. This game deserves its own news piece as just reading through the specs, it appears to be a massive game encompassing a wealth of genres. Will it be any good?
