It’s been a big day for tinyBuild as they’ve given details on four new games all in one go. This news was meant to go out much earlier, but poor time management and a headache, and… well, no excuses.

Let’s cut to the chase.

Pigeon Simulator

The game we never knew we needed, Pigeon Simulator is an open world title where you do as you please as a pigeon. Emphasis on ‘do’ as you can crap on people.

Rats with wings, these pigeons can take people’s food and steal tanks in a game where you can unlock your bird’s abilities through levelling up.

From HakJakPigeon Simulator features both hand-crafted elements and procedurally generated ones, but the core thing to take away is the term ‘open development project’.

The developers intend to build the game from the feedback from players, using a flexible set of systems that include:

A procedural city generator, including interiors and ‘dungeons.’

  • An ambitious, physics-based destruction engine capable of detailed, full city destruction.
  • A unique and flexible skill tree and ability structure we call ‘the DNA system’ and ‘Stomach Alchemy’.
  • An advanced ‘AI Storyteller’, NPC relationship simulator, and Story Module system for emergent gameplay.
  • A unique content production pipeline to help us bring crazy ideas to life as fast as we can with a 5 person team
  • And tons of physics-based, pigeon popping mayhem!

Despot’s Game features include:

  • Get your pretzels ready – Your puny squad is capable of much more. Choose your loot and transform the squishy humans into wizards, cultists, ninjas and dozens of other heroes, including the mythical stale pretzel throwers. With perks and class combos, there are thousands of ways to build your army. The man-eating cabbage will appreciate the variety in its diet!
  • Crush your rivals – If you can survive the labyrinth, you’ll meet THE UNSTOPPABLE END-GAME BUILDS OF OTHER PLAYERS! You’ll beat each other to death and only one will be spared by d’Spot. No offense, but in his own game he writes the rules!
  • Indirect combat – Prepare your warriors and let them fight it out on their own! Indirect combat allows you to focus heavily on tactical considerations rather than reflexes. Strengthen your front line with fridge-movers, aim your food-throwers and look after your Forbidden Summoners!
  • Endless exploration – The dungeons are generated from scratch every time, and there is no chance puny humans will ever find the way out! And even if they strike lucky — don’t worry, there are endless ways to die in Despot’s Game!

This looks familiar…

Despot’s Game is due for release on Steam in 2021, with a demo available during the Steam Game Festival from tomorrow (3rd February).
