Towaga Among The Shadows Targeting The Switch
Currently available as a demo on Steam, Towaga Among The Shadows will be coming soon to the Switch.
From Sunnyside Games and Noodlecake Studios, Towaga Among the Shadows is a twin-stick shooter, with the emphasis on defensive gameplay.
In the game, you play Chimù who seems to be the last line of defence on his island; defending it via ground-based combat from a fixed position, up to the skies where you have a little more freedom.
Inspired by animation legend Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory if you didn’t know), Towaga Among the Shadows is a gorgeous looking game, and you’d be forgiven for thinking that this was a spin-off of an already popular animation in its own right.

With over 70 stages, there’s a ton of goodies to unlock such as spells, gear, outfit, lore diaries and doors. I added the latter because I’m being facetious. Also, XP allows Chimù to boost their damage-dealing ways, magic potency and health meter.
Other than the narrative-based story mode, there are also Trial challenges and an Endless Mode for survival fans and boasters of hi-scores in Towaga Among the Shadows. Best of all, there’s over 60 unlockables and 50 achievements – take that time ‘I don’t have enough time in the day’.
