Unusual Findings Halloween Trailer

With the best intentions of writing a Halloween themed feature or similar, life got in the way, so you can make do with this Unusual Findings Halloween trailer (which is better than any feature would have been anyway).

Epic Llama Studios and Buka Entertainment, who collaborated on the excellent Darkestville Castle, return to the point-and-click genre with this tale of three teenagers on the hunt for some porn. Meh, that’s at your fingertips (heh heh) – anyone can get that. Allegedly… But we’re talking about the 80s, friends. We had to make do with the ripped up jazz mags tossed (heh) on the railway tracks, back in my day.

Before you open a new tab to write to your local politician about filth, Unusual Findings is a coming of age story that tunes in on all those ace 80s movies – Flight of the Navigator (minus the friends), The Goonies, The Explorers, erm… Weird Science? Anyhoo, it’s one of those stories, and there’s a new vid out.

Before we get to that part, let’s build up the anticipation with some key features:

  • A classic 90s-inspired point-and-click adventure with retro 80s style
  • Stylish (and stylized) pixel-art with modern shader and lighting effects
  • Fully voiced dialogue without the hassle of installing a dozen floppy disks
  • True old-school puzzle design. Mash together every item in your inventory
  • An authentically retro synthwave soundtrack for the 80s Hollywood flavor
  • A cast of charming and memorable characters and three playable heroes
  • No pixel-hunting – reveal all interaction hotspots with a handy assist mode

Unusual Findings is due on PC at the end of the year. Depending on when you read this, you might be able to have a look-see at the playable demo – it’s well worth your time.
